What's the competition:
You have Newspapers who charge in the region of £20 to £25 per thousand for multiple leaflet insertion. Four to six leaflets within a newspaper being common practice. That's even worse than four to six leaflets being delivered through the door by hand, because in addition to all those leaflets you also have the newspaper competing for attention as well.

What also naturally happens is that the leaflets start falling out of the newspaper so there's a tendency for them to get binned before the newspaper is read. Newspapers are no competition to a reliable door-to-door leaflet delivery service.

Finally you have Royal Mail, who, charge around £45 per Thousand.
